From vibrant colors to striking monochromes, your heart sings as the craftsmanship brightens every day of your life.
The artist has her palettes filled with bright and luminous gobs of colorful paint. People are constantly telling her they do not see color used as often as she does and with the intent and purpose as she does.
Her pieces are thoughtful and hope to provoke you to think beyond the surface to seek in-depth meanings. In each gallery below you will find delightful hints at her process as an artist.

Site Clinic Mural in Lake City, Seattle, WA
This mural is in the newest site-clinic of the Seattle Indian Health Board.
Concept:
Yəhaw̓
“The Creator has left the sky too low. We are going to have to do something about it, and how can we do that when we do not have a common language? ...We can all learn one word, that is all we need. That word is yəhaw̓ - that means to proceed, to go forward, to do it.”
— taqʷšəblu / Vi Hilbert (Upper Skagit) in her telling of Lifting the Sky
Because this is an intertribal setting and clinic, even with non-native patients and providers, I believe this story and word can work well with the clinic.
My idea is to incorporate soothing yet warm colors, not too stressful or vibrant. Some very PNW colors with the warmth coming through with red ochre or yellow ochre.
There is a gradient of blues and greens that fades to the sky to some stars. There is both the land and the water, with salmon jumping out and swimming.
Cedar boughs and trees are faded throughout.
