Native Women Nutcracker Greeting Cards
Native Women Nutcracker Greeting Cards
This NEW series of Native Nutcrackers features 12 different women in regalia. This means there are 12 cards & envelopes in each set.
I created my Native Nutcracker Greeting Cards in 2020 because I was upset about offensive, inaccurate depictions of Native people made by non-Natives. I have German ancestry (among other European) from my dad’s side and my Native ancestry comes from my mom. I blend my heritage and reclaim Native Nutcrackers. Why are their teeth bared? Well, traditionally nutcrackers were warrior figures made to simultaneously protect your home from evil spirits and bring good tidings (and crack open nuts ;). I believe Native women are no less fierce or protective than Native men, so they bare their teeth too!
The designs include Jingle, Northern Buckskin, Fancy Shawl, Smoke, Southern Buckskin, Woodland, Métis, California Coastal, Alaskan, Seminole, Hoop, and Navajo.
The cards are 5”x5” and envelopes are 5.5”x5.5” and you will need to check with your local postal provider on postage costs.
Each container is 100% recyclable. Each purchase supports my small business partners that I buy my supplies and prints from which are local to my area.
**Please note as I assemble the card sets at this time that it may take a little while to arrive. Orders are currently in pre-order. **
